Privacy Policy

Keuer Solutions (ABN 77 913 532 599) trading as LandMate (“we”, “our”, “us”) operates the LandMate application on iOS, Android, and web at app.landmateapp.com (collectively, “the App”). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, disclose, and protect your personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs).

By using the App, you consent to the collection and use of your information as described in this policy.

1. Information We Collect

We collect the following categories of information:

Account information — your name, email address, and authentication provider (Google or Apple) when you create an account.

Project data — saved estimates, project names, and quantity lists you create within the App.

Usage data — which calculators you use, feature interactions, screen views, and app performance metrics. This is collected via analytics to help us understand how the App is used and to improve the service.

Device and technical data — device type, operating system version, browser type (web version), screen resolution, and IP address. This is collected automatically when you access the App.

Billing data — subscription status, Stripe customer ID, trial dates, and billing period dates. See section 6 for full details.

Local data — calculator inputs, theme preferences, and default settings are stored locally on your device using AsyncStorage (native) or localStorage (web). This data is not transmitted to our servers unless you save it to a project.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Provide, operate, and maintain the App and your account.
  • Process your subscription and manage billing.
  • Store and sync your saved projects and estimates.
  • Analyse usage patterns to improve the App and fix bugs.
  • Communicate with you about your account, billing, or service changes.
  • Provide customer support.
  • Comply with legal obligations.

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties. We do not use your data for advertising or marketing purposes beyond transactional communications related to your account and subscription.

3. Cookies & Local Storage

The web version of LandMate uses browser localStorage to store your preferences, theme settings, and calculator inputs locally on your device. We do not use tracking cookies for advertising purposes.

Our analytics service may use standard web technologies to collect anonymous usage data. You can control cookie and storage settings through your browser preferences.

4. Data Storage & Security

Your account data and saved projects are stored on cloud servers operated by Supabase. Our hosting provider represents that data is encrypted in transit and at rest using industry-standard methods. We rely on the security practices of our third-party providers and do not independently audit their infrastructure.

We implement reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your personal information against unauthorised access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. These measures include the use of reputable hosting providers, access controls on our systems, and periodic review of our security practices.

While we take reasonable steps to protect your data, no method of electronic storage or transmission over the internet is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security of your information.

5. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services, each with their own privacy policies:

  • Google Sign-In — authentication.

  • Supabase — database and cloud storage (servers may be located outside Australia, including the United States).

We encourage you to review the privacy policies of these services to understand how they handle your data.

6. Payment & Billing Data

Payment processing is handled by third-party providers depending on your platform: Stripe on the web, Apple App Store on iOS, and Google Play on Android. LandMate does not receive, store, or have access to your full credit card numbers or CVVs.

We store the following billing-related data on our servers: subscription status, platform, store transaction identifiers, trial end date, current billing period start and end dates, and cancellation status. For web subscriptions, we also store your Stripe customer ID. Your email address may be shared with payment processors for billing communications and receipt delivery.

Billing records are retained for a minimum of 5 years after the end of the relevant financial year, in accordance with Australian Taxation Office (ATO) record-keeping requirements, even after account deletion. Non-required billing data is deleted when you delete your account.

7. Cross-Border Data Transfers

Your personal information may be transferred to, stored, and processed in countries outside of Australia, including the United States, where our third-party service providers operate servers.

In accordance with Australian Privacy Principle 8, before disclosing personal information to an overseas recipient, we take reasonable steps to ensure that the overseas recipient does not breach the Australian Privacy Principles. We select third-party providers that we believe maintain appropriate security standards, however we cannot guarantee the security practices of overseas recipients.

By using the App, you acknowledge and consent to the transfer of your data to these countries.

8. Data Retention

We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service. Specific retention periods:

  • Account data (name, email) — retained until you delete your account.
  • Project data (estimates, quantity lists) — retained until you delete the project or your account.
  • Usage and analytics data — retained in anonymised/aggregated form for up to 24 months.
  • Billing records — retained for 5 years per ATO requirements.
  • Local data (preferences, calculator inputs) — stored on your device and managed by you.

When you delete your account, we will take reasonable steps to remove your personal data from our active systems within 30 days. Residual copies may persist in backups or logs for a limited period before being overwritten. Billing records are retained as required by law.

9. Your Rights

Under the Australian Privacy Principles, you have the right to:

  • Access — request a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
  • Correction — request that we correct any inaccurate or incomplete information.
  • Deletion — request that we delete your account and associated personal data.
  • Complaint — lodge a complaint if you believe we have breached the Australian Privacy Principles.

To exercise any of these rights, contact us via the contact form or visit landmateapp.com/support. We will respond to your request within 30 days.

You may also delete your account directly within the App via Settings → Delete Account. Upon deletion, all associated data will be permanently removed from our servers (subject to the retention periods in section 8).

10. Data Breach Notification

In the event of a data breach that is likely to result in serious harm to you, we will notify you and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) as soon as practicable, in accordance with the Notifiable Data Breaches (NDB) scheme under Part IIIC of the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth). Our notification will include the nature of the breach, the types of information involved, and recommended steps you can take to protect yourself.

11. Children’s Privacy

LandMate is not intended for use by children under 18 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 18. If we become aware that we have collected personal information from a child under 18, we will take steps to delete that information as soon as practicable. If you believe a child under 18 has provided us with personal information, please contact us.

12. Marketing Communications

We do not send unsolicited marketing emails. The only emails you will receive from us are transactional communications related to your account, subscription, billing, and service changes (e.g. payment receipts, subscription confirmations, and material service updates). These communications are not marketing under the Spam Act 2003 (Cth) and do not require consent to send.

If we introduce optional marketing communications in the future, we will obtain your express consent (opt-in) before sending them, and you will be able to unsubscribe at any time.

13. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will notify you by email or by displaying a prominent notice within the App at least 14 days before the changes take effect. The “Last updated” date at the top will be revised accordingly.

Your continued use of the App after the effective date of any changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.

14. Complaints

If you believe we have breached your privacy or the Australian Privacy Principles, you may lodge a complaint by contacting us via the contact form. We will investigate your complaint and respond within 30 days.
